Feel the burn somewhere other than your wallet!

Now that the sun is up longer and the temperature is warmer, jump on that bicycle, put on those walking shoes or strap on those roller blades. It’s a healthy way to get to work and it will be easier on the wallet! Live too far away? Combine your healthy commute with riding the bus or driving to a park and ride and completing your commute from there. Not only will you feel better, you’ll save money.

If bicycling, walking or roller blading won’t work for you, try another way to Travel Green, like riding the bus, carpooling or vanpooling to work. All modes will help eliminate trips to the pump and save you money.

By using a commute alternative to work in June and filling out your commute calendar, you’ll go into a drawing to win 1 of 10 $25 Fred Meyer gift cards or the grand prize of a $150 Fred Meyer gift card.

And don't forget, at the end June, we'll be giving away three grand prizes! By participating 125 times from October 2007 - June 2008, you'll be eligible to win a Flat Screen TV, 100 times you'll be eligible to win a Laptop Computer and 75 times you'll be eligible to win a digital camera. Check out your commute calendar at the bottom and it will tell you if you qualify.

Don't forget to fill out your calendar by the 8th to be eligible for prizes on MyCommute.org.

To be eligible for prizes given away in June, your employer must have committed to participating in the Travel Green campaign in April and continue promoting commute alternatives in May and June by signing an employer agreement form and submitting it to the Spokane County Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) Office. Please check with your Employee Transportation Coordinator (ETC) at your worksite to see if you are eligible to win. Your odds of winning are based on the number of eligible on-line commute calendars filled out each month. To win, you must use a commute alternative and have an on-line commute calendar filled out by the 8th of the following month. Click here for a list of registered worksites participating in the Travel Green campaign with continued CTR promotional efforts in May and June.
